IMMIGRATION

Family-Based Immigration

Keeping families together is at the heart of U.S. immigration law. We help U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents petition for close family members, including spouses, children, parents, and siblings.

Our firm guides you through every step of the process—from determining eligibility and preparing petitions to responding to government requests and attending interviews. We work to minimize delays, avoid common filing errors, and ensure your application is accurate and complete. Whether your loved one is inside or outside the United States, we provide personalized guidance to help reunite your family as smoothly and efficiently as possible.

Green Cards & Adjustment of Status

Obtaining lawful permanent residence is a major milestone. We help clients pursue green cards through family relationships, employment, humanitarian programs, and other qualifying categories. If you are already in the United States, we guide you through the adjustment of status process. If you are abroad, we assist with consular processing. Our firm carefully prepares applications, supporting documents, and interview readiness to reduce the risk of delays or denials. We are committed to helping you secure permanent status and long-term stability in the United States.

Removal Defense

Facing removal proceedings can be overwhelming and frightening. We provide strong legal representation for individuals at risk of deportation or already in immigration court. Our firm evaluates all available defenses, including cancellation of removal, waivers, asylum-based claims, and relief for long-term residents or family members of U.S. citizens. We advocate aggressively on your behalf, explain your options clearly, and stand with you throughout court proceedings. You do not have to face the process alone- we are here to protect your rights and fight for your ability to remain in the United States.

Naturalization

Becoming a U.S. citizen offers security, opportunity, and a sense of belonging. We assist lawful permanent residents through the naturalization process, from eligibility review to oath ceremony preparation. Our services include application filing, document review, interview preparation, and assistance with any complications such as prior immigration issues or criminal history. We help ensure you are fully prepared and confident as you take this important step toward citizenship.

Consular Processing (Family Abroad)

Consular processing is typically used by individuals who are outside the United States and seeking to obtain a visa or lawful permanent residence. After an immigrant petition is approved by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), the case is transferred to the National Visa Center (NVC) and then to a U.S. embassy or consulate in the applicant’s home country or country of residence.Applicants must complete required forms, submit supporting documentation, attend a medical examination, and appear for an in-person interview at the consulate. If approved, the visa is issued, allowing the individual to enter the United States legally. In immigrant visa cases, lawful permanent resident status is typically granted upon entry into the U.S.

Consular processing is commonly used for:

  • Family-based immigration cases

  • Employment-based immigrant visas

  • Fiancé(e) visas- K1

  • Certain temporary work or travel visas

VAWA (Violence Against Women Act)

For survivors of abuse by a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident spouse, parent, or child, VAWA may provide a pathway to lawful status without relying on the abusive family member. Our firm approaches these cases with compassion, confidentiality, and trauma-informed advocacy. We work closely with you to gather supporting evidence, prepare detailed declarations, and guide you through every stage of the self-petition process while prioritizing your safety and long-term immigration goals.

U Visa

If you have been the victim of certain crimes in the United States and have assisted, or are willing to assist, law enforcement, you may qualify for a U Visa. We guide clients through every step of the process, including preparing the petition, gathering supporting documentation, coordinating law enforcement certifications, and addressing work authorization and deferred action issues. We also assist with derivative family member petitions to help keep families together throughout the process.

Asylum

Whether you are filing affirmatively with USCIS or defensively while in removal proceedings before Immigration Court, our trauma-informed team takes the time to listen to your story, understand your experiences, and carefully evaluate your legal claims under asylum law. We work diligently to build strong, well-supported cases tailored to your individual circumstances. Our office stays informed on evolving immigration court trends, policies, and adjudication patterns to provide strategic and informed representation throughout your case.

Cancellation of Removal

Cancellation of Removal is a form of relief available to certain individuals in removal proceedings who meet specific legal requirements. These cases often involve demonstrating continuous physical presence, good moral character, and exceptional hardship to qualifying family members. We carefully prepare supporting evidence, develop compelling legal arguments, and advocate aggressively before the Immigration Court to pursue every available avenue for relief.

Administrative Errors

Mistakes on immigration documents can create unnecessary stress and delays. If your Permanent Resident Card or other immigration document contains an error due to USCIS processing issues, we assist with filing the appropriate correction requests, including Form I-90 applications where applicable. We also evaluate fee exemption eligibility and help ensure that corrections are handled properly and efficiently.

Permanent Resident Card Renewals & Replacements

Renewing or replacing a Permanent Resident Card requires careful attention to timing, filing requirements, and supporting documentation. We assist clients with Form I-90 filings to renew expired cards, replace lost or damaged cards, and address card errors while helping minimize unnecessary delays or complications. We also monitor current biometrics requirements and USCIS processing procedures to help ensure a smooth renewal process.

Waivers

J-1 Two-Year Home Residency Requirement Waiver

Certain J-1 exchange visitors are subject to a two-year foreign residency requirement before they may apply for certain immigration benefits or visa changes. We help clients evaluate available waiver options, including hardship waivers, persecution-based waivers, Interested Government Agency requests, and no-objection statements, while guiding them through the complex application process.

I-601A Provisional Unlawful Presence Waiver

Individuals who accrued unlawful presence in the United States may still be eligible to pursue lawful permanent residency through a provisional waiver process before departing for consular processing. The I-601A waiver requires demonstrating that a qualifying U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident spouse or parent would suffer extreme hardship if the waiver is denied. We work closely with clients to develop detailed hardship evidence and prepare comprehensive waiver applications.

I-601 Waiver for Fraud or Misrepresentation

Individuals found inadmissible for fraud or misrepresentation may still qualify for immigration relief through an I-601 waiver. These cases require extensive legal and factual analysis, including demonstrating extreme hardship to qualifying family members. Our office carefully prepares waiver applications with detailed evidence, legal arguments, and supporting documentation tailored to each client’s circumstances.

Criminal History

Criminal charges, convictions, or prior interactions with the criminal legal system can have serious immigration consequences, including inadmissibility, detention, denial of immigration benefits, or removal proceedings. Our office carefully assesses how your criminal history may impact your current immigration status or future immigration options. We review charging documents, dispositions, and court records to identify potential immigration consequences and available forms of relief. We also work alongside criminal defense counsel when appropriate to help protect your immigration interests.

FAMILY & PROBATE COURT MATTERS

Guardianship of Incapacitated Adults

When a loved one is no longer able to make safe or informed personal decisions due to illness, disability, cognitive decline, or incapacity, seeking guardianship may become necessary to protect their well-being. Our office assists families through the guardianship process with compassion and care, helping prepare petitions, medical documentation, and court filings while guiding clients through Probate and Family Court procedures. We understand that these matters are deeply personal and often emotionally difficult, and we work to make the process as smooth and supportive as possible.

Divorce

Whether your divorce is uncontested or highly contested, our goal is to help you navigate the process efficiently while protecting your rights, finances, and long-term interests. We work closely with clients on issues involving property division, custody and parenting plans, child support, alimony, and settlement negotiations. Whenever possible, we aim to minimize unnecessary conflict, expense, and emotional strain while still advocating strongly for your position. We believe that thoughtful legal strategy and clear communication can help save clients time, money, and energy during an already difficult transition.

Restraining Orders (209A Abuse Prevention Orders)

Our office works closely with survivors of domestic violence seeking protection through Abuse Prevention Orders under Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 209A. We understand the urgency and sensitivity of these situations and provide trauma-informed representation focused on your immediate safety and long-term protection. We assist clients with emergency filings, extension hearings, evidence preparation, and related family law matters that may arise alongside restraining order proceedings. Whether you are seeking protection for yourself or your children, we are committed to advocating for your safety and helping you navigate the court process with compassion and care.

Prenuptial Agreements

A carefully drafted prenuptial agreement can provide clarity, transparency, and peace of mind before marriage. Our office works collaboratively with clients to discuss assets, income, business interests, future financial goals, and potential concerns in order to create comprehensive agreements tailored to each couple’s needs. We take the time to ensure that all disclosures are thorough, terms are clearly understood, and agreements are drafted in a way that helps minimize future disputes while protecting both parties’ interests.
